We love Wanaka

There's something about Wanaka. You drive in and it just feels...chilled. It's no wonder it has been designated the worlds first protected lifestyle retreat.
We treated ourselves to a nice campsite with showers (oh yes, a plumbed in (vs solar) shower is now a treat). The lady who runs it noticed how we were scratching from all the bites sustained from our trip down the west coast and noted how Wanaka was biting insect free (is there anything bad about this place?!?!)
As we arrived in the afternoon we managed a quick cycle on the Dean's bank track (just 2hrs return from the campsite via a riverside track), a fantastic purpose built mountain bike route that winds and flows through tussock and pine forest.
That evening we went to cinema paradiso. A cute little place where you sit on sofas or in cars (!) to watch the movie and where you can take in a glass of wine, and order dinner for the interval.
The next day was spent catching up on admin and drinking what has got to be one of the worlds finest mochas in the Patagonia chocolate cafe. Admin has never tasted so good!
